Committee of experts - Gather top experts in the industry
National Virtual Reality Innovation Center has set up an expert committee led by Academician Zhao Qinping, Jin Guofan, Zhuang Songlin, Jiang Fengyi, Li Bohu, Deng Zhonghan and Dai Qionghai.
The committee of experts gives full play to the leading role of industry top experts in technological innovation, analyses the development trend and major issues of the virtual reality industry, and provide decision-making support for the strategic planning of technology directions, major projects establishment and major achievements evaluation of the National Virtual Reality Innovation Center.
R&D team - Covering key generic technologies in the virtual reality industry
National Virtual Reality Innovation Center has introduced a group of full-time high-level technical innovation talents and dual-hierd expert consultants from around the world, and established a top R&D team in the industry. The team members are engaged in professional fields such as optics, electronics, communications, and computer science, and a number of chief scientists have been deployed in six major R&D directions. At present, the proportion of R&D personnel exceeds 75% of the total number of employees, and more than 70% of the R&D personnel hold doctoral or master’s degrees.
With the chief scientist as the core backbone, 11 research institutes have been set up to carry out collaborative innovation research on key generic technologies, in the fields of virtual reality, including Geometric Optics, Light Field Imaging and Display, Near-eye Display, Micro-nano Optics, Perceptual Interaction, 3D Sensing and Machine Vision, Immersive Acoustics, Graphic Computing, Ergonomics, Terminal Technology and Communication Technology.
The team has been engaged in scientific and technological research in virtual reality technology, artificial intelligence and other directions, and led and completed more than 20 national science and technology program projects, such as the key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the projects of National High-tech R&D Program (863 Program), and the projects of the Chinese Defense Advance Research Program.
