National Virtual Reality Innovation Center cooperated with Huazhong University of Science and Technology to publish a monograph named “Holographic Polymer Materials for VR/AR Applications” in Acta Polymerica Sinica, which is a top Chinese journal in the field of polymer science. The monograph summarizes the development of VR/AR technology, discusses the relationship between the performance of holographic polymer materials and VR/AR display effect, emphatically introduces the main strategy of optimizing the performance of holographic polymer materials, and finally anticipates the development direction of holographic polymer materials for VR/AR. The first author of the paper is Dr. Ni Mingli at National Virtual Reality Innovation Center, and the corresponding authors are Professor Peng Haiyan and Professor Xie Xiaolin at Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

Major objectives and task directions of National Virtual Reality Innovation Center

National Virtual Reality Innovation Center aims to build six major platforms covering key generic technology R&D, pilot verification, testing, technical services, talent training and international cooperation to focus on solving key generic technology problems that restrict the development of China’s virtual reality industry; to make breakthrough in key generic technologies in the virtual reality industry, including Optical Display, Human-computer Interaction, Graphic Computing, Ergonomics, Terminal Technology and Communication Technology; and to build an industrial innovation ecology covering the entire virtual reality industry chain to promote the high-quality development of China’s virtual reality industry.
